How does a buy-back vehicle purchase work?
How does the insurance work?
Who should buy a group A2-vehicle?
You want to have your very own car to travel through Southern Africa but your budget is low and renting a car for a long term would be too expensive for you? You want a car you can feel secure traveling through South Africa and countries bordering South Africa?
Then Drive Africa’s car group A2 will be perfect for you.
Group A2 Golf’s hatchback- these are our middle range cars in the fleet with normal kilometers clocked up over the years. This group is by far the most available group in our entire fleet due to its popularity and value for money and Drive Africa always makes sure that they are available.
The car group A2 is allowed to travel throughout Southern Africa visiting countries like Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland etc. If you choose to travel outside the borders of South Africa then the write-down is slightly more due to the extra wear and tear that the car will receive and the insurance also increases slightly as other countries are involved. Please see prices above for cross border travel with my buyback car to get the rates/ prices for buying a car to cross South Africa’s borders. All our cars are sold with insurance and no age restriction – just a valid national or international drivers license needed.
Use this Golf A2 group confidently to explore South Africa with its great countryside and attractions with the knowledge that you are driving a well looked after car that has been serviced regularly with average kilometers.
The write-down is more than the group A1. Please bear in mind this group comes with NO Power steering and NO aircon. If you need Power steering and or an air-conditioned vehicle you need to choose a group B sedan car which has these features as standard.
The group A2 is a standard car that will give you no problems, has not got the age and kilometers of the group A1 which should give you more peace of mind. It’s the ideal car for young and old to drive throughout South and Southern Africa. It’s a reliable get around car for students and interns doing practical work in South African companies as well as for the adventurous backpackers/travelers wanting to explore South Africa or and including the neighboring countries.
We do deals from 2 months up to 12 months. Should you wish a longer period then arrangements can be made on request. Good news is there is no minimum age to buy this car group and no minimum time that you have had to have your licence for. All you need a valid unendorsed driver’s licence which can be your countries national or an international driving licence. Both are accepted. Copies of Passport and two identical colour photos are needed to have the car licensed in your name
If you only need a cheaper car for in and around Cape Town then you could look at the group A1 where the write-down is less and the insurance is also less.
Please be aware that these A2 cars are second hand cars and have been owned by others in the past years, have had some regular wear and tear and have seen a lot of South Africa. They have all been regularly serviced as per our terms and conditions that go with one of our buyback contracts. If saving money on rental is the objective but still have a reliable car to get you around then this is the car group for you.
Need something newer with less kilometers slightly more modern than this group then go to group A3 there you will find cars that are 5, 4 or even only 3 years old. Some of these even smell new and the paintwork still sparkles. We have a car for everyone at Drive Africa if you can’t see what you want ask us and we will get it for you.
